Spirafix “A” type anchors are ideal for outdoor play equipment. They are easy to install and provide a rigid connection from the anchor to the timber frame through the bracket and screws. These are sold in a convenient kit of four complete with brackets, set screws and coach screws (see “Products > Useful Kits”). These are also suitable for anchoring swings made from both timber and metal. For metal tube swings where there is already a hole to take a bolt, then the bolts that came with the swing can be used. In the event that you do not have suitable bolts, then please specify what diameter and length are required at the time of order and we will substitute the coach screws in our kits for bolts that can be used with the swing. They have been used for the past four years for log cabins and to date no problems have been experienced. The joist brackets have been heat treated to enhance the strength and anti-corrosion properties of the steel and are capable of supporting the weight that the anchors are designed to take. The illustration below shows the bracket being bolted onto the top of the anchor, but an M16 stud with nuts can be used to gain a fine adjustment of the height.
