The general method of installing SpirafixTM anchors is to drive them in with a hammer. This applies to each of the three
head types. A heavy hammer (approx 1kg to 3kgs) is best suited for this as it has sufficient momentum, even when
travelling slowly, to drive the anchor into the ground. If a light hammer is used, there is a danger of peening over the
head and in the case of the “A” type, it could prevent the set screw from being screwed into the head. Usually, all that
is needed is short blows of the hammer. If too much force is used it could drive the anchor in without allowing it to
follow its helical path and this may result in ground disturbance that lowers its pull-out force. You may come across
small tree roots, bricks, stones and other obstacles that will stop the progress of the anchor. If this is the case, then a
few heavier blows of the hammer will usually do the trick. Care needs to be taken to ensure that these obstacles are
not services. Please check prior to doing any installation
