Our team is delighted to be back carrying out our yearly test at Glastonbury for the first time since 2019! With things now returning to normal and the events industry coming into full swing, we couldn't have been happier than to go back to Glastonbury for 2022.
Spirafix was commissioned to test five different site areas within Glastonbury for different staging and other temporary structures ahead of the festival, which runs from 22nd to 26th June. Our checks involved testing various sized anchors for different loads to determine what anchors were required for staging and other temporary fixtures for the festival.
We always recommend carrying out site tests to determine the capability of local ground conditions. We can provide this testing service, as we have done for Glastonbury, or you can purchase suitable test equipment that consists of a tripod, threaded bar, load cell and all of the sundry items required to establish Spirafix load requirements.
One of the areas where we carried testing out had specific loading requirements. These conditions were met successfully after conducting our tests using different sized anchors.
The Spirafix team has a deep-seated knowledge and understanding of ground anchoring and vast experience gained from working with customers across many years. This knowledge and expertise allowed us to complete testing of each of the five sites within Glastonbury within just one day.
Our team has submitted the loading report to the Glastonbury team, who will distribute this amongst their temporary structure suppliers ahead of the upcoming festival.
If you need temporary ground anchors for an upcoming festival or event, Spirafix is here to help. We have been designing and manufacturing our ground anchoring system, with its simple spiral design, since 2002. We have a comprehensive understanding of installing our ground anchors in all different types of soil and weather conditions throughout the UK and beyond.
If, like Glastonbury, you require ground testing ahead of your event or festival, we can assist. We have developed a portable testing system which allows us to provide our clients with detailed and specific information regarding the loads and capabilities of our anchors in all soil and ground types. We can provide certificates and documentation to add further peace of mind to support this. As we have done at Glastonbury, we can provide you with a detailed loading report that you can use and distribute throughout your structure suppliers.
