Client: Custom Solar
Collaborating on a custom solar project. Spirafix entered a shared project to install, a hybrid system using Spirafix ground anchors, with reinforced rebar and concrete to secure a small power station supply required to
facilitate the installation of solar carports, at Portsmouth North Harbour.
Testing, specification and installation
The Spirafix team used our hydraulic piling rig to install 75mm ground anchors, leaving them protruding 300mm above ground level for encasement with rebar and concrete. These anchors were then tested to Custom Solar's specified loading requirements prior to the construction of the small power supply station to be installed by others.
Challenges
Prior to installing any anchors, we consulted with Custom Solar and determined that a detailed analysis of the underground services drawing was necessary due to the presence of high-pressure steam pipes near the site location.
