Client: CTV Outside Broadcast
To advise on an alternative, effective anchoring solution for outside broadcast towers constructed using the Layher All Round system of aluminium scaffold.
To replace water ballast and / or ratchet straps and to achieve 3,300kgs of hold for towers from 5 metres down to 3 metres.
The solution needed to be quick to install, had to be fully removable and leave no trace once removed due to the high profile locations attended by CTV Outside Broadcast team.
Solution
We advised on the 50mm Spirafix Ground Anchor range - the SF50-10-1050AC (threaded head) after carrying out on site testing with the Spirafix Test Rig in ATSM Class 8 ground.
Also the SA693 scaffold truss bracket and the SA892 and SA893 locking hub and pin.
We also carried out on site training with the CTV Outside Broadcast Team to ensure they could use the equipment efficiently.
