One of the things we love most about Spirafix ground anchors is their versatility. They can be used on many projects and for many purposes—in industrial applications, domestic applications, temporary fixings, and much more.
Here's a look at some of our recent projects where Spirafix ground anchors have provided solutions:
Tree House - Hill Holt Wood
We supplied our products and expertise for an exciting bespoke tree house project for Ermine Engineering.
The client wanted to carry out the project whilst incurring minimal groundwork at their site at Hill Holt Wood, an environmentally sustainable forestry site in Lincoln.
Work began in 2022, and 16 Spirafix SF75-12-1760AC anchors were installed to secure the main structure of the tree house. We then returned in 2024 to install 18 SF50-10-1260AC anchors to secure a custom-built staircase that wraps around the tree and is fixed to the tree house to allow access.
The Spirafix team successfully carried out the installation without causing any disruption to the significant underground tree roots. Hill Holt Wood was delighted by our ability to maintain the ground and leave the surrounding areas untouched while giving them the desired result.
Using Spirafix ground anchors allowed the installation of the tree house without any large machinery and without using concrete, which helped protect the tree, its roots, and the area's natural beauty.
Securing of Stages - Glastonbury
The Spirafix team travelled to Glastonbury last year to secure one of the stages for our customers, Team Love. We did this by using our 75mm anchor range, installing them using the Atlas Copco-T driver, and successfully meeting the minimum factored loading requirements provided to us by the client.
We also work directly with Glastonbury Festival and supply our ground anchors to many other customers who site their tents and marquees at the festival.
One of the main challenges at Glastonbury is installing ground anchors for stages in relatively short timescales to meet the demands of festival organisers. The Spirafix team meets the agreed timescale every year - usually just one day.
