The use of Spirafix ground anchors was originally considered for this application to achieve both a cost and time effective install on site, whilst also securing the structures loading required from each ground anchor. Both the SF50-10-1050AC and SF40-8-390AC anchors were specified for this job, the SF50's were used for the main uprights whilst the SF40's were used as stabilisation in between the main uprights.
Challenges
The main factor when planning for a project such as this is positioning of the anchors. This is critical for both alignment of the building and more importantly the avoidance of underground services. With a GPR scan being complete all marked installation points of the Spirafix anchor were approved for installation.
Solution
With all points pre-approved and pre-marked, further to the Spirafix team arriving on site we complete all anchor and bracket installs within one day. This allowed our client Storage future to immediately start building the storage garages for there clients.
Whilst also providing a significant cost and time saving on this project versus other foundation methods we were also able to offer a more environmentally friendly install with no heavy machinery used or waste being produced.
