Spirafix | Ground anchors, screws and bolts

Solution

The Spirafix anchor is used in two ways.
For a standard tethering application the anchor is fully installed by driving the anchor down into the ground using impact only movements (these anchors are not 'screwed in'). Once the anchor collar contacts the ground the anchor is considered fully installed. A turnbuckle is fixed to the top of the threaded head anchor and attached to the guy wire. Once the tension is correct the turbine is stable and fully functioning.
For a standard base plate application the anchor in fully installed and the base plates are simply fixed into positon using standard screws. The tower is then erected and guy wires used for additional stabilisation.
The Spirafix Ground Anchor used for these two methods of secure fixing is the SF40-08-0610 AC (threaded head).
